Salix 5% Injection is a diuretic-saluretic for prompt relief of edema in horses, cattle, dogs and cats. Salix 5% Injection contains furosemide. Each ml contains 50 mg furosemide. Salix 5% Injection is administered intramuscularly (IM) or intravenously. The usual dosage of Salix 5% Injection for cattle is 10 ml (500 mg) once daily or 5 ml (250 mg) twice daily at 12 hour intervals. The usual dosage of Salix 5% Injection for horses is 5-10 ml (250-500 mg) once or twice daily at 6 to 8 hour intervals. The usual dosage of Salix 5% Injection for dogs and cats is 1/4 to 1/2 ml per 10 lbs body weight given once or twice daily, permitting a 6 to 8 hour interval between treatments.
