Ventipulmin for Horses
Ventipulmin syrup for horses is indicated for the management of animals affected with airway obstruction, such as that which occurs in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Each ml of the syrup contains 72.5 mcg clenbuterol HCl. Ventipulmin is administered orally twice per day. The initial recommended dose of Ventipulmin syrup is 0.5 ml per 100 lbs twice daily for 3 days. If no improvement, increase dosage per label instructions, up to 2.0 ml per 100 lbs twice daily. The recommended duration of treatment with clenbuterol for horses at effective dose is 30 days. The effect of Ventipulmin on reproduction in breeding stallions and broodmares has not been determined. Vitamin K1 for Animal Use
Vitamin K1 Injection is indicated in coagulation disorders when caused by vitamin K deficiency or interference with vitamin K activity; to counter hypoprothrombinemia induced by ingestion of anticoagulant rodenticides; or to counter hypoprothrombinemia caused by consumption of bishydroxycoumarin found in spoiled and moldy sweet clover. Vitamin K1 Injection contains 10 mg phytonadione per ml. The dosage range for cattle, calves, horses, swine, sheep and goats is 0.5 - 2.5 mg/kg SQ or IM. The dosage range for dogs and cats is 0.25 - 5mg/kg SQ or IM.
Zycosan Injection for Horses
Zycosan is indicated for the control of clinical signs associated with osteoarthritis in horses. Zycosan contains 250 mg/ml pentosan polysulfate sodium. Osteoarthritis is the leading cause of lameness in horses. Most horses will experience lameness at some point in their lives. OA can occur in any joint in the horse’s body, including the carpus, hocks, fetlocks, stifles, and other weight bearing joints, as well as the neck and back. It can significantly impact a horse’s overall health and athletic ability. Horse arthritis medicine can help. For intramuscular use in horses only. Administer 3 mg/kg (1.4 mg/lb) by IM injection once weekly for four weeks (for a total of four doses). Zycosan does not contain a preservative. Discard unused vial contents.
