ProZinc Insulin for Dogs and Cats

ProZinc (protamine zinc recombinant human insulin) is indicated for the reduction of hyperglycemia and hyperglycemia-associated clinical signs in dogs and cats with diabetes mellitus. ProZinc insulin should be mixed gently prior to withdrawing each dose from the vial. The initial recommended ProZinc dose is 0.1 – 0.3 IU insulin per pound of body weight every 12 hours. Injections should be administered SQ on the back of the neck or on the side. The dosage should be given concurrently with, or right after a meal. The safety and effectiveness of ProZinc insulin in kittens, puppies, breeding, pregnant, and lactating cats and dogs has not been evaluated. Protamine zinc recombinant human insulin, 40 IU/ml.
