Viokase-V Powder is activated whole raw pancreas; a pancreatic enzymatic concentrate of porcine origin, containing standardized lipase, protease and amylase. For dogs, mix 3/4 to 1 teaspoon with each meal; cats mix 1/4 to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Mix well with moistened food (canned or dry) and let stand at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before feeding. Frequent feeding, at least 3 times a day, is important. Powder.

What you should know:
Viokase-V enzymes are derived from whole, raw pancreas of pork origin. Tell your veterinarian if your pet has an allergy to pork. In cases of chronic pancreatitis, replacement therapy may be necessary for the duration of the animal’s life.
How to give this medication:
For dogs, mix 3/4 to 1 teaspoon with each meal. For cats, mix 1/4 to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Mix well with moistened food (canned or dry) and let stand at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before feeding. Frequent feeding, at least 3 times a day, is important. If you miss a dose:
If you miss a dose, skip the dose you missed and give the next one as directed. Do not double dose.
Viokase-V should not be used in:

Possible side effects:
Some patients may exhibit reactions, including allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; swelling of the lips, tongue or face; hives), diarrhea or loose stool. If you observe any of these side effects, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.
